What this estimate means
How long IRCC currently takes to issue a first permanent resident card after a new permanent resident lands in Canada. The card is produced and mailed automatically — there is no separate application for the first card.
This is IRCC's published estimate, not a guarantee: individual applications can be faster or slower. Always confirm on the official IRCC processing-times page before making plans.
