Quebec points calculator (PSTQ)
Score the principal applicant on Quebec's Skilled Worker Selection Program (PSTQ) grid, which ranks Arrima profiles. French is scored on the Quebec 1–12 scale, per ability. This tool scores the principal applicant only — the province's full 1,400-point total also includes spouse factors and a French–English combination bonus, which are deliberately not added here, so treat this as a subtotal, not a final Arrima score.
The grid this calculator uses
| French (per ability) | Levels 1–4 → 0 · 5–6 → 38 · 7–8 → 44 · 9–12 → 50 (max 200 for four abilities) |
| Age / work / education | Age: 20–30 → 120, falling to 44 → 10, 45+ → 0. Work: 48+ months → 70 · 36–47 → 50 · 24–35 → 40 · 12–23 → 20. Education: doctorate / medical specialisation → 130 · master's (2+ years) 117 · bachelor's (3–4 years) 104 · secondary 13 (full table in the calculator) |
| Quebec factors | Diagnosis: shortage up to 120 · slight shortage up to 100 · balanced up to 25. Quebec diploma up to 200 · Quebec work up to 160 · outside Montreal: residence up to 40 · work up to 60 · study up to 20. Job offer: outside Montreal 50 · inside 30. Licence / recognised credential 50 · study without diploma up to 30 · family outside Montreal 10 (mine) / 5 (spouse's) |
Eligibility floors (not points): PSTQ Streams 1 and 3 require French oral level 7+ and written level 5+; Stream 2 requires French level 5; an accompanying spouse needs oral French level 4+. Meeting a floor does not guarantee an invitation — Quebec invites by published draw criteria and score. Spouse points and the French–English combination bonus are not included in this subtotal.
