Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots (Child Care and Home Support)
These two pilots (Child Care, for home child care providers, and Home Support, for home support workers) offer permanent residence on arrival to home care workers with a full-time job offer in Canada outside Quebec. Each pilot had a Workers in Canada stream and a planned stream for applicants not working in Canada, with an annual cap of 2,750 applications per pilot. Applicants need lower language and education thresholds than the caregiver pilots they replaced.
Paused
Intake paused until further notice by IRCC notice of December 19, 2025; intake will not reopen in March 2026, and IRCC's 2026 transition material says intake was closed for the remainder of the pilots (2026-2030). The Workers in Canada stream filled its 2025 cap on opening day, March 31, 2025; the Applicants not working in Canada stream never opened and is also shown as Closed on IRCC's pages. The program page labels both routes Closed; applications already received continue to be processed.
